Well, it’s been a while since I posted something on the technology world- but guess what I just got inspired again! Who knew? Anyway, I was uninspired by the (lack) of development in the “philosophy” of technology for a number of years now.

What do I mean by that? Well, I started my IT career in the 1980′s. If ever there was a period of ferment that was one. I used to read a venerable magazine called BYTE, which frankly, caused an indentation in the floor when the postman put it through the mailbox. It gave me headaches, but I loved it, after an aspirin or two. Why? Because I read the damn thing cover to cover until I understood all the technology, as best I could anyway.

At that time, a new development or technology would come along, that literally six months later, maybe, would be a radically different commercial application. For the last decade the IT world has been in the wilderness of corporate boring.

Yes, the Open Source world has been fun, until Oracle bought Sun and trashed everything in sight, but that was just boring corporate megalomania. It was not geeky enough, for me anyway.

So back to my inspiration. I think we are seeing the edges of a new world where Codd & Date do not rule data storage. If that was too obscure and shows my age, well, then I think we are seeing the the beginnings of a massive paradigm shift in storage. You see, we now store tons of stuff online.

for now, Google, Amzazon, et al, use conventional RDBMS’s but you know what? Or most regularly used computing device does not. No its not your laptop. It’s your mobile.

I see a gradual move towards light, possibly Object oriented databases in mobile devices and big large dinosaur RDBMS’s in servers in the clouds.

So what? that’s obvious- sure it is as far as it goes. Here’s what comes next. I’d like you to think back, say 15 years. Who used mobile phones? Very few. They were just payphones that you carried with you.

Today, the mobile gadgets are the most popular way to connect to the Internet. Think about it for a moment, the most popular way to connect to the Internet. More popular than desktops. This has all happened in just a few short years.

Could you live without Facebook or Twitter? Arguable, perhaps these days. What I see happening next is the “distributed web” where we take “our” Facebook with us offline for when we are not connected to the Net. The Internet may be almost ubiquitous, but the cost to make it totally permeate the planet is a far too expensive “last mile”.

Yet we travel more- there is likely not going to be radically new expansions of mobile Internet access, which is already patchy. We therefore will demand to have offline access to “our” data.

you can bet Oracle will not run well on an iPhone. Goodness, it barely runs well on a monster server. There has been no radical change in the storage technology we use for over 45 years, from a philosophical point of view.

Now there is and the push was not geeky, but social. Social media will change the way we interact with technology in exactly the same pervasive way the mobile phone did 20 years ago. This might all seem obvious to you, but the ramifications are huge- IT got unpredictable again. Partly, because it is no longer “IT” but mobile Internet.

Next I’ll get into mobile development tools for Android, iPhone, Blackberry and others. I’m about to start another journey of discovery, at last. The last decade of corporate bullshit is a bit like John Lennon’s interview in “Rolling Stone” (I think) just before he was killed, when he was asked what he thought of the 70′s he said “the 70′s were a drag”. That’s how I feel about the 90′s and most of the 2000′s.

You see there’s one bit of secret sauce I did not mention: mobile apps can and are built successfully by one person, or a small team. No longer do we have to have budgets of millions, gazillion Sun servers and 50 Java coders to make something that in the 1980′s a developer in Clipper, Modula-2 or C++ could do in the same time. There’s hope yet.

Are you a mobile warrior? Well many professionals today, are in-fact, “on-the-go”.

Deciding whether you fit the criteria to get a virtual toll free number can be as simple as asking yourself, “how often am I in the office?”. If you find yourself travelling a great deal, or simply on the road quite a bit, so long as you have access to the internet you can obtain and manage all your calls online with your own toll free number.

These services come with multiple features, including the ability to route your callers, from the online call management center, to your home, business, or mobile phones. Essentially, you’re able to route calls worldwide.

If you want your callers to receive specific messages, you can records personal greetings to fill that need. You can also pick up your voicemail in many ways; via email, via the internet, to specific other phones, or listen to the calls over your PC speakers.

In summary, getting your own virtual toll free number includes many features, so it’s best to first decide exactly what features you could use with this service, or is another type of service best for your business.

There are numerous features included when you get a virtual toll free number, however, the best way to decide whether it’s for you is to ask yourself if missing calls means missing business. Be honest when you answer this question, because there are businesses that may not falter as a result of missing calls, and therefore this service may not be what you’re looking for.

Another way to determine if this service is for you is to ask yourself whether an automated voice answering system (which is included when you get a toll free number) would be sufficient or would a Live Receptionist Service provide the features your business needs. With the selection of toll free number you get various call answering features included, however a live service may provide the personal connection to set your business apart from the automated world we live in today.

Your personal business needs with determine whether a live answering service or an automated answering service (which is included with your toll free number) is best for you. Both services are very affordable and both services are equally popular. The automated version with your toll free number is appealing to individual professionals, whereas the live receptionist service tends to be used by small businesses.

This situation may already happen to you: You saw an unknown incoming phone number on your cell phone’s screen . You were wondering who the caller was and why he called? If the owner of that number called you several times, you may get nervous. You called back and tried to figure out who the owner is, but no one answered. So you got more anxious .

There is a solution which can solve your problem quickly. You can go to the internet, get your favorite search engine, and enter “ Reverse Number Look Up “. In just a few seconds, you can find many sites offering reverse phone number look up services. Some of them even claim their service is “free”. What you need to do is entering the phone number directly . If the phone is a landline phone, you may immediately get the result and know who the owner of this number is. But if it is a cell phone, most likely you will only get the city and phone type (cell phone or landline phone). If you want to get further information about this cell phone, then you need to pay for this reverse cell phone number look up service. In a few minutes you will get the information of the owner: Name, address, phone carrier, etc.

Therefore, when a website mentions a “free” reverse phone number look up service, most likely it just provides a “free” preliminary search, i.e., it only includes the city and the phone type . If the user wants more information, he need to pay for it. Some websites even provide some other information associated with the number, like the owner’s criminal background, court records, neighbors, marital status, employer etc, if the user wants to pay.

Many persons want to get free stuff without paying. But sometimes it may need lots of time to search for actually free information, and sometimes you may even get nothing after spending lots of time . Paying a small amount of fee can save you much time, and get more accurate information.

PvP combat is in your Hunter’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) has brought more advanced, real time battles to the game.

The first real time PvP battle zone is Lake Wintergrasp. In this new zone, players battle on the live server to earn points that allow them to shop for all sorts of special items such as the new Heirloom items that any of the player’s characters in that account regardless of that character’s level can take advantage of.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the trend toward PvP combat in the gaming industry, you’ll surely see more even more PvP in WoW in the future. Here’s what you need to know to handle your Hunter in this new world:

If you want to be a Hunter in PvP combat, it helps to have the instincts of a hunter. That’s because you’re going to need to be able to identify your prey and understand how it will respond to your attack. You need this knowledge so you can hunt it down and terminate it. You need to understand the capabilities of your character and its gear, as well as the tactical situation. Then you need to position yourself and terminate your prey with extreme prejudice before it can take you down. In WoW Player versus Player combat, it’s much the same, except that your prey is another player’s character instead of an animal.

But playing a hunter in PvP involves much more than that. You need to know when and how to employ your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is one thing. You also need to know how to manage the space between you and your prey to cause the most possible DPS damage in each duel. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. In particular you need to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are most likely to come at you. And you need to know how to counter those classes that can close to melee combat range quickly, such as Warriors and Rogues.

You can learn much of what you need to win as a Hunter in PvP simply by spending time in the arena. But I can tell you from personal experience that if you try, you had better be prepared to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. You don’t want to know how many hours I spent at the bottom of the standings in the arena before I finally started getting the hang of it. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I was able to make real progress.

Because a quality Hunter PvP Guide contains the hard-earned combat experience of veteran Hunters, it will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. It will teach you the key things you need to know, saving you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend trying to discover a Hunter’s combat secrets on your own.

Learn how your Hunter can come to dominate any kind of PvP combat with the PvP Bible. Visit this site to discover more about this great Hunter PvP Guide, or get your own copy right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info.

Do you want to buy a business card scanner that offers the best price?Do you know when you are being robbed or getting a great deal?Well take a few minutes tobrowse through this article and you will be glad you did. We will provide the following: which is best business card scanner, helpful infor on best business scanners on market or rather cardscan vs. scan to contacts

The best price for card scan will be different from customer to customer depending on the particular needs of each individual. The ideal and simple flatbed scanners range from around $60 and it increase from there. These scanners can be used for cards, forms, notebooks etc.

There are a quite a number of companies that focus on business and financial information related scanning, like business card scanning, receipt and bill scanning and form scanning. They provide many different bundles that are designed to suit the needs of a variety of individuals and companies.

The best price for card scan is usually ranges from $100-$150 and most of the common offerings are accommodated in this range and do not exceed it. Within this price range, it is possible to obtain great bargains from makers like CardScan, Neat, BizCard, PlusTek and others who provide business card scanners.

These scanners are offered with inclusive software in most cases and all of them run on MS Windows. The Mac platform is also covered by most of the softwares and this provides good OCR capabilities to Mac users wanting to use a card scanner.

As you search for the best price for a card scan, remember never to compromise on quality for a lower quote. In most situations it is better to spend an extra twenty or thirty dollars to get a standard model plus software that has a great reputation than saving that money and going for a Unknown company.

In today’s video game market you have to pay quite a bit of money to get the brand new cutting edge video game systems like the PS3, XBox 360 and even the Sony PSP, I am talking major money anywhere from $300 to $500 dollars then on top of that you have to buy the expensive games that can be $50 to $60 dollars, just ridiculous prices.

With all this money, it is pretty hard to keep up and get the newest games and or systems, so I did some homework on trying to find aother way of getting games for my PSP. Well it didn’t take long for me to cut down on the cost of buying PSP Games, in fact, now I get all my PSP games for free.

Have you been experienced trouble learning how to download games on your PSP? It is really very easy to learn how. Here’s how to do it in 6 simple steps.

1.) Get A Memory Stick

You are going to need a lot of free space. The original 32 MB stick just won’t cut it. How can you download games or watch PSP movies on 32 MBs?! I would recommend a minimum of 256 Megs of free space.

2.) Download PSP game files to your computer

Make sure you aren’t downloading shareware but only full games. After you download the games you want to your computer, you are able to transfer them to your PSP.

3.) Decompress the file

If the games are compressed in a ZIP file, you will need a free program like Winzip or Stuffit Expander (Mac) to unzip the file. These programs will automatically unzip the file.

4.) Connect your PSP to your computer

Now, how do we play the games? To be able to play the games, you have to connect the PSP to your computer (duh). You should use the free USB cable that the PSP comes with. The PSP must be in USB mode for the files to download. How to do this? Press the HOME button and scroll to the SETTINGS column. Scroll to USB CONNECTION and press X. Then you are ready for file transfer.

5.) Copy the PSP Game to your PSP

You have to copy the full game to PSP > Game. If you do not put the game in this folder, it certainly will not work.

6.) Play the game

I know it sounds to far good to be true, but believe me when I say this is the real deal. It is 100% legal and extremely easy, all you have to do is download the PSP games from your computer onto your PSP and start playing. There are literally thousands of PSP games that are available to download, but you have to be care as there are a lot of sites out there that will really mess up your computer with adware and spyware.

The class of Death Knights is the latest available class in WoW. This class was brought to us by ‘Wrath of the Lich King’ expansion released in 2008. In the World of Warcraft, the DKs were introduced as a “Hero” class. However, this doesn’t mean that the DK class is stronger compared to any other class.

Interesting things when it comes to DKs is they attack system which is not based on mana, rage or energy but it is based on runic power. They have two runes with a cooldown at their disposal for any attack and spell. The Runes are divided in three sets of two Blood, Frost and Unholy Runes. The talent trees have the same names as these mentioned runes.

Click here to watch the video WoW Death Knight

A DK is a plate wearer, can deal a significant amount of melee damage and can also cast several spells from afar. The Death Knight class can play both a tank and a good melee dps role in any dungeon group and raid. They can wield one-handed and two-handed weapons but cannot equip a shield.

If you want to create a DK you will need to have another level 70 char in possession. You will start leveling a DK at level 55 which will make your journey a lot easier. Another nice thing is that your DK will start with bags, some money and green gear.

Your journey will start in The Ebon Hold in the Eastern Plaguelands. At first you will be fighting together with the forces of the Lich King. You will be taking direct orders from the Lich King himself during the quest chains that you should complete in the areas around the Ebon Hold. As rewards for the quests that you complete there you will receive nice blue items and talent points. Since your char starts on the level 55 you won’t have some talent points, however, you will be able to earn those points back by doing quests.

For more information on WoW class guides, read our review: Warcraft Pros Review

At the level 58 the quest chain you were on will change its course. You will be able to escape from the Lich King’s command and you will join his enemies to fight by their side. At this level you can go anywhere you want and continue your leveling, however the best choice for fast leveling will be the Outlands area. You will enter the Outlands with all your talent points, full blue gear and with a nice piece of lore behind you.

As any other character, a Death Knight should also choose two primary professions. You can of course choose any profession but there are several professions that fit a Death Knight well. When it comes to most of the characters, Enchanting is a nice and useful profession to have because you will be able to enchant your rings. Since ring enchants are only available for the Enchanter himself it is nice for any character. Jewelcrafting, which is best combined with Mining for cheap leveling purposes, is nice because a Jewelcrafter can make better gems for own use. Because a lot of gear has sockets at later levels this is a nice profession. You can also make different kinds of Jewelry with it like necklaces, rings and trinkets. Blacksmithing could also be a good option for your DK because you will be able to craft plate gear which you can actually wear. Best accompanied by the Mining profession, you can also use Blacksmithing to make sockets in your gloves and wrists.

The DK class is very fun to play. A Death Knight class has no down points. This happened simply because this class is very easy to level up since you start at level 55.

Rogues may be the most hated class in PvP. That’s because they can take down most any foe, leaving them staggering around like a fool and unable to defend themselves, regardless of that foe’s class. Still, no class is invulnerable, and understanding your Rogue’s many strengths and few weaknesses will surely make you even more annoying to your player versus player foes. First we’ll talk about your strengths.

Rogue PvP Strengths

I’ll say it right out. Rogues are perhaps the most effective and most feared of all PvP classes. Because you are so well-rounded, it’s hard to pick out your greatest strength. Once you become proficient with them, Stunblocks are deadly weapons. A well-executed stunlock can leave your opponent immobilized or staggering around in a daze, and make them easy pickings for you and your teammates. Learn to do this right, and if you have a good Rogue PvP build, few will be able to stand up to you.

Many would say that your poisoning skills are your greatest strength. Most enemies flee Rogues, and your Crippling Poison makes it much harder for them to get away, while your Mind Numbing Poison slows their ability to cast spells against you. Combine these with the rest of a Rogue’s abilities and you’ll drive your enemies to distraction as you terminate them.

Rogue PvP Weaknesses

One big weakness of being a Rogue in large battles is that other players don’t like you very much. Any player who has seen their character stunlocked into immobility while being pounded to death, or poisoned into stumbling incompetence has a score to settle with Rogues. This can make you a target, as most players will happily help when it comes to taking out an enemy Rogue.

Beyond the fact that everyone hates you, your character’s biggest weakness is the complexity of executing a stunlock. Mess this up, perhaps because a Hunter’s pet is chewing on you, or a Shaman gets an Earthshield up, and you’ll be vulnerable to attack. Beyond that, remember that you have only melee attacks, so if a ranged fighter manages to keep you at a distance, they can tear you up with impunity.

These are just the basics of Rogue strategy, strengths, and weaknesses in PvP. Most decent players can do well in PvP with just basic Rogue strategy. But to really dominate you need more than that. An excellent Rogue PvP build will be crucial, as will great Rogue strategy ideas for PvP. A Roge PvP guide can help you with things like talent builds, Rogue PvP gear selection, specifics of killing each opposing class, and more.

Learning the strengths and weaknesses of your Rogue is one great way to improve your performance in PvP combat.

A few days ago I decided to create a new Blood Elf character. Since I wasn’t up for grinding my way to higher levels (again), I decided to buy the Zygor Horde Guide and see if it would really help level my character faster. Let me tell you what I’ve learned so far.

Some Background

I hadn’t found previous leveling guides to be of much use. There were various reasons, but the biggest was the way that you had to keep getting out of the game to consult the guide so I would know what to do next. It got so frustrating that for a while I used two computers whenever I played: one for the game, and another to display the current guide page. The hassle was bad enough, but the way it kept pulling me out of the game to go consult the other computer really made it less fun.

Why Zygor is the Best

Zygor Guides work within World of Warcraft. How is that different than the old guides I used? It means that the guide information appears in a window right inside the game. The guide is much more accessible, and you can stay “in” the game. This makes the entire experience vastly better and more enjoyable.

My Zygor Horde Guide also gives me lots of control over how much information I get. You can close the Zygor Guide window completely if you just want to focus on playing. If I do want help, I get two choices. I can have s little window with just enough information to know what I need to do next. If I really want help, I can switch to the large Zygor Guide window with just a click, and get tons of information about my current situation and what I need to do next.

Another feature I love is the distance and direction arrow. This puppy always points to the next objective, and updates in real time so I always know where I need to be heading. It’s a great time saver, particularly once you have a flyer and can go directly toward your objective. With my Zygor Horde Guide, I get everything I need to blast through the levels super fast, without ever looking away from the game.

Do Zygor Guides Actually Get You Through the Levels Faster?

If you’re like me you’re probably thinking this all sounds really cool, but are wondering if my Zygor Horde Guide actually helped me to level faster? Well, I did a test. My brother had a character that was several levels higher than mine, who got there the old-fashioned way. He offered to have his character escort mine for a bit. I told him what I was doing & that I would do this session on my own, following the advice in Zygor. We went our separate ways. A few hours later he decided to check in on me and see how it was going. His reaction says all you need to know about how well these guides work. His first words were, “Hey! How the bleep did you get up to that level so fast? Can my guy come with yours next time?”

If you’re tired of grinding for experience and want to level fast, you need Zygor Guides. To get ‘em, just Click Here.

Everybody have a cell phone today. Now stop for a minute to think about this. Do you ever go out and about without your cellular telephone? Naturally I’m not saying that this is a bad thing. However, sometimes cell phones can pose certain problems. You are damn right! You’ve seen the countless individuals who chat regularly on the phone while cruising down the highway. This is of course not a safe way to chat it up with friends and family. Imagine how distracting it is to talk on the phone while driving down the road with oodles of traffic around you. Anything could have happen. These cell phone lovers should seriously consider a hands free telephone.

When was the last time you were driving to work and fumbling aimlessly with your cell phone. Do not feel bad about it! You are certainly not the only one. In fact, if you take a drive right now, you will see many drivers chatting on cell phones like it’s no big distraction. Unfortunately it is! Firstly, you need to have the phone close to your ear while driving and managing the steering wheel. Then there are other many distractions. There’s food, coffee and navigation systems. A good alternative would be a hands free telephone that allows you to chat, but without the fumbling.

If you’re currently seeking out a hands free telephone or broadband internet phone to suit your chatting needs, then you won’t have to look far.
